Victoria is from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She is majoring in Psychology and minoring in African and African Diaspora studies on the pre-health track. Victoria is deeply passionate about addressing the maternal mortality rates among Black women in the United States. Her lifelong ambition is to establish a birthing center for women of color, creating a nurturing environment where they can feel safe and supported when seeking medical care, especially during pregnancy and childbirth.

On campus, Victoria is a part of the only R&B acapella group, Black Experience in America through Song (BEATS). Additionally, she is a Cura Facilitator and Resident Assistant. Outside of her filled schedule, Victoria enjoys listening to music, reading, and creating new memories with her friends.Ìý

Victoria's hope is that all who walk into the center are filled with a warmth that leaves them craving more support and accompaniment. She is excited to see all the new and returning faces that will bring the energy and life into the Center.

Makayla is originally from Atlanta, Georgia but now resides in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She is an International Studies and Economics double major with a minor in Finance. Makayla is passionate about social justice issues, especially regarding the lack of education many girls around the world experience. In 2024 she started a nonprofit called Shades of Knowledge that works to provide access to resources that enhance students’ learning in schools around the world, including South Africa and Guatemala. Women and girls are the key to deescalating conflict and stabilizing communities but that can only happen if they have the chance to get an education, which is exactly what Makayla hopes to accomplish.

On campus Makayla is a class of 2028 senator on BC's Undergraduate Student Government where she sits on the Academic Affairs Committee. Additionally, she is involved in BC's only R&B acapella group, Black Experience in America Through Song (BEATS), Eaglemunc, a Model UN conference run for high schoolers, and serves as a Cura Facilitator.
In her free time Makayla enjoys listening to music, particularly Afrobeats and R&B, as well as working out. Makayla's hope is that anyone who walks into the Center leaves with a smile on their face and feels a sense of community and comfort.

Mariwa was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, a borough known for its diverse population and culture. She is an Economics major minoring in Accounting for Finance and Consulting. Because of her experience as a Black woman in healthcare, Mariwa started off undergrad on the pre-med track, with aspirations of becoming an OB/GYN to find solutions for reproductive health disparities within the Black community. Although she realized that being a doctor wasn’t for her, Mariwa still hopes to give back to disadvantaged communities through education, advocacy, and finding a link between her current major and medicine. On campus, Mariwa participates in various Campus Ministry programs, such as Arrupe, Appa, Kairos, and more, also having served as an Orientation Leader her sophomore year. By immersing herself in these experiences, she hopes to truly embody becoming a person for others, and take the lessons learned on campus to make the world a better place. Outside of class, Mariwa enjoys reading, listening to music, social justice advocacy, introspection, and laughing with her friends.

Gabrielle (Brielle) Keeley is a student at Boston College, class of 2027, from Queens, New York, pursuing a double major in Accounting and Sociology on the Pre-Law track. Passionate about social equity and institutional accountability, Gabrielle combines her business education with a deep commitment to justice and community formation. On campus, she serves as a RA and staff member at the Women’s Center, where she advocates for gender equity and wellness. She also facilitates reflective dialogue through BC's Cura program and is a student leader for the 2026 Winter Arrupe Immersion Trip to the Philippines, focused on sustainability and environmental justice. Gabrielle’s work bridges hands-on service and leadership, and she aspires to pursue a career in law or policy where she can continue to uplift underrepresented voices and drive structural change.

Ashley is from Washington Township, NJ, and is majoring in Political Science and Environmental Studies, with a concentration in Environmental Justice and Policy on a pre-law track. She aspires to become a lawyer who focuses on supporting issues regarding the environment and immigration. She is passionate about advocacy for marginalized communities, leadership, and loving others. For these reasons, Ashley is excited to work in the Women's Center and contribute to the community through new friendships and opportunities!

On campus, Ashley serves as an ELP Facilitator, a 48 Hours Council Member, and an Endowed Scholar. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking, running, thrifting, spending time with friends, or doing anything that involves laughing and talking.

Liz is originally from Wilmette, IL and is majoring in International Studies and double minoring in French and Design thinking and innovation. With these fields of study, Liz is passionate about understanding social problems from a global context and using strategies from design research to rethink the systems and institutions in society which create inequality. Liz has always been extremely interested in advocacy, mentorship, and service learning programs and is grateful for all the opportunities at ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹that have allowed her to continue this work. Working at the Women’s Center, Liz is excited to build community and create resources for other students looking to get involved with the Women’s Center. She first began volunteering with the team for the Women’s Summit and was blown away by all the amazing work they were able to accomplish. On campus, Liz is also a panelist for Student Admissions Program and a member of College Democrats of Boston College. In her free time, Liz loves cooking, taking spin classes, and hanging out with friends.

Sana is from Charlotte, North Carolina. She is majoring in Political Science and Economics on the Pre-Law track. Sana hopes to pursue a career in law and is driven by her passion for justice and policy—especially when it comes to advancing gender rights. She became involved with the Women’s Center out of a deep love for community and a strong passion for women’s issues. Sana is extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve her community through the Women’s Center and raise her voice in advocacy. On campus, Sana serves as a choreographer for ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹Masti and holds a position at the Career Center as Peer Career Coach. In her free time, Sana loves to read, listen to music, try new bakeries, volunteer at local non-profits, and explore the city of Boston.

Fairuz was raised in New Rochelle, NY but currently lives in Yonkers, NY. She is an Applied Psychology & Human Development major with a focus in Organizational Studies and Human Capital. With a passion for social justice and amplifying student voices on campus, Fairuz’s engagement on campus is driven by her devotion to advocacy and systemic change. After graduating, she hopes to enter sectors like Human Resources or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to help these spaces become more inclusive and aware. She wants to utilize her critical and restorative lens to empower others and to make opportunities equitable and accessible for marginalized communities.
On campus, Fairuz is a member of the Bystander Intervention Lead Team. She is also on the AHANA+ Leadership Council of UG¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹where she will serve as the incoming Assistant Director.

During her free time, you can find Fairuz organizing her Pinterest boards, listening to music in the sun, trying new restaurants, or dancing to bachata and reggaetón with her friends.

Katerina Trantzas was raised in Westchester, New York. She is pursuing a double major in Biology and Philosophy with hopes of attending medical school after graduation. She has a passion for women's health, AHANA+ representation, and supporting survivors of sexual assault. In her future career, Katerina hopes to use her studies in medicine and women's health issues to assist in the fight to end the cycle of human trafficking. Through her time volunteering, she recognized the environment of empowerment and belonging at the WC and sought to help foster this environment in the Boston College community. Outside of the WC, Katerina works to help keep Boston College a safer campus as an EMT with BCEMS.
